It seems each day another company releases a cross platform development environment to allow “Joe (Tech) Public” to develop a smartphone app. However none of them are the golden ticket that their hype would have you believe. Some are aimed at a subset of smart phones and some are more suited to particular app types, e.g. games. So which ones work well for which app categories and which are you better leaving alone for the time being until they reach a higher maturity level?
